The Problem
The Solution
The solution is to create a educational subscription service with video library.
Business Frustrations
Primary Frustration - Lacks a platform for growing business
Currently, the founder is unable to charge clients on a recurring basis without being physically present. Pathformers mission is to provide a platform for parents to learn the tools they need to navigate their families journeys and remove the need to book sessions with a therapist.
Secondary Frustration - Reaching more people with a variety of content
Reaching a larger group of parents is challenging due to income, time, and location restraints. This limits the reach of effective therapy tools to the existing clients who could need them most. Moving to a subscription platform will allow her to grow her audience.
Ideation
Our ideation phase included a flow chart that allowed us to hone in on what features to include in the sign up process and video experience.

User Flows
We decided to map two different possible user flows; one illustrating the browse experience leading the user to a sign up process, and the other forcing the user to sign up immediately to be able to browse the videos available. Our team wanted to consider both options with the client, but ultimately chose the logged out browsing experience to increase conversion rates. The user gets to browse the video library and sample small portions of content and will lead to a sign up CTA.

Site Map
Building on the User Flows, we developed two versions of the site map: both provide the user with a preview of the content/video, one with a browse before signing up and the other after signing up.

Low Fidelity Wireframes
Based on our explorations and client feedback, our next step was to begin sketching low-fidelity wireframes to garner some initial thoughts on how to tackle the subscription video library.

High Fidelity Wireframes
Next, our team got a little more granular and started building more detailed wireframes before jumping into the UI. This allowed us to take a closer look at a few features we were considering implementing and what it could look like.

Styles & Components
To support the longevity of Pathformers as a product, we built a small design system with reusable components. We wanted to ensure consistency across the platform, making it easier to maintain and scale over time. By standardizing components, we recognized that we could streamline the design process, shorten development time, and ensure a cohesive user experience for our client, ultimately resulting in a more efficient and effective product development cycle.

High Fidelity Prototype
Highlighting the Pathformers sign up process from logged out to logged in, you can see the journey the user takes to gain full access to the extensive video library.
Project Reflections
Since Pathformers is a new start-up, the budget limited the features we were able to build into the project. We had bigger ideas that we weren't able to implement due to time and financial restrictions, such as:
Custom Pathformers illustrations throughout the sign up process
Community features to comment and interact with other users
In depth user profiles and preferences
Customized suggested video content for each user
User forums to get questions answered by the experts
Back end CMS and portal for the experts at Pathformers to interact with users
